The 85th Newport Area Chamber of Commerce annual meeting and luncheon will be held Friday, February 3 at ASU-Newport from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will include the announcement of 2022 award winners including the friend of tourism, community pride, small business, large business, bright future, manufacturer, ambassador and outstanding citizen awards.
In lieu of a speaker, this year’s luncheon features a game show theme and a friendly competition of “Did You Know?” putting attendees head-to-head for a fun trivia contest with audience members competing for local prizes. A 50/50 raffle will also be held. Tickets for the raffle are $5 each and can be purchased during the event. Raffle ticket sales will be followed by a short auction for the naming of a street sign located at Newport Lake by the Farmers Market. This is a great way to honor someone from your business, organization or community. Come ready to place your bids!
Cost to attend the banquet is $30 per person and is open to the public. Tickets will not be given; however, pre-payment is mandatory in order to reserve your seat. RSVP at the Chamber office at (870) 523-3618 or email director@newportarchamber.org by January 27. Tables of six to eight can also be reserved in advance.
The Newport Area Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting the City of Newport and Jackson County by cultivating community involvement, encouraging business alliances, nurturing the growth and development of new and existing businesses, and creating educational opportunities for community youth.
