The City of Newport, Jackson County, the Newport Area Chamber of Commerce and the Newport Economic Development Commission have unveiled a new web site design for the community. The web site is the first major overhaul since 2009 and represents a fresh approach to marketing the community over the internet. New features make the site very user friendly and offer a lot of information to visitors and residents alike.

Some of the upgraded features include a robust Community Calendar that the Chamber and NEDC hope becomes the go to place for learning about the things happening in Newport and Jackson County. The Chamber’s directory on the web site allows Chamber members to have a web address posting that can reach users with valuable contact information. Agendas and minutes from public meetings, including the Newport City Council and the Newport Economic Development Commission will be available online as well. Citizens will be able to easily find contact information for elected officials and government offices all at the click of a mouse. The Press section of the web site will provide users with updated information about things happening in and around Newport and Jackson County.

A brand new feature of the web site is the Tourism section. This section will highlight both annual events like Portfest and Depot Days and events throughout the year like Bluesday Tuesday and the ASU-Newport Patron Series. Listings will include not only the time and date of events, but also contact information.
